I think what has happened a lot is that Mayweather, for being one of the most popular boxers ever, is under a microscope. But the irony is that the same can be done for other boxers, for instance, Pacquiao.

It could be stated he marinated the Mosley fight (didn't Roach tell Mosley he was too good for a shot at one point), his team has acknowledged their fault for not accepting the first attempt at a Mayweather fight, and like Mayweather, he didn't seem interested in fighting P Will or Sergio Martinez. Neither chose Amir Khan over other boxers. He wouldn't fight Cotto without a catchweight.

Seems like there is a lot of hate for Mayweather when a lot of the points brought up against him are not mentioned even when they are exactly the same for other boxers.

Literally any criticism that has been given in this thread to Floyd can be given to practically any boxer that's ever lived if you want to spin a narrative.

That's the comedy of it. When it's called out, it's just ignored and the narrative continues. Very tiresome.

Mayweather's career and accomplishments speak for themself at the end of the day. Jokers can have their non sensical narratives as much as they like but it doesn't change the reality of it. There's a very good reason he is always ranked very highly in any historical boxing list that's ever put out and is universally considered if not the best fighter of his era at the absolute worst he's #2.

Scores were 116-112 twice and 118-110. It wasn't a difficult fight to score as there was a clear winner in my opinion. He exposed Pacquaio's difficulty cutting off the ring, poor defense against check hooks, and disability to block straight right hands.

Max Kellerman, who always comes across as a huge Pac fan, described the fight as "A little too one sided."
        - - Slapsie Jellymon has disappeared from boxing apparently after being exposed as a smarmy village idiot who got his start claiming Roy Jones was the great boxer ever.

It's been all downhill for him since just like Loony Teddy and U.

The official score cards had to be rejiggered for l'l floydy and he Crack Daddy to win along with a 2 week backdated TUE.

Moreover, uncounted thousands paying for the PPV got stiffed when the systems were overloaded, such a miserable fight that sparked a $100+Mil lawsuit.

U on the wrong forum, sonny. Need to be on the Hysteria Forum wherever that be...

It works both ways. A lot of people also have an attitude that Floyd can do no wrong. The thing is if you look at fighters with an aggressive advocacy group IMO nobody touches Roy Jones... before his fall from grace. I think on the whole, a lot of Mayweather's fans tend to be well balanced and kowlegable about the sport, and more realistic than when Jones was thought to be the second coming.

Seems to me that the biggest issues with Floyd are with the sport and not really with Floyd per se. Fans allow certain things and then blame fighters for making smart business decisions. I see this with Canelo right now. I mean if you want to see Canelo fight someone, don't pay forb the easy fights! Make the fighters fight the best with your dollars!

The Pac fight imo made an interesting statement because neither guy really took any great risks, and for all practical purposes it was a draw. To Floyd's credit when Pac tried a bit was when he had his moments, but he never really tried to show he was better than Pac. Pac probably realized that he would be taking a real risk if he went after Floyd... I hate to keep saying it but this fight to me demonstrates the need for 15 rounds... we need those rounds of attrition!
Yes we do. MMA even realized that. That's why they made main events and title fights 5 rounds instead of only 3. So boxing needs to bring back those championship rounds.
