Welcome back Marchegiano! No bickering, flaming, getting baited or road rage, please. Your rare and erudite contributions are far too valuble! Far too valuable. Please.
Ivich, I'm liking these. This one I've seen.
The post Marciano/Pre Ali span was always a great one to me. Heroes of childhood I guess. Remember the great 1972 Boxing Illustrated cover "Death Stalks the Heavyweights"?
Silhouettes of Liston, Machen, Folley and Marciano (Boxing's Jimi, Janice, Jim...).
They could've addded Cleve Williams getting hit by a car decades later.
57 -63 would be one rough ride for Rocky.
Marciano stuck with his instincts and made a good call.
I wonder what would've happened if Marciano and Johansson had met?

It must be hell for a man to give up his handle and walk under the name of another.
What would have happened? What Rocky knew would happen at that stage. For the first time we would have seen a Marchegiano who got tired, and probably beaten by a third rate heavyweight champion.

My collected works sig is lost forever and ever. This forum does not appreciate solid posters over whiney trolls and so, no more ****ing history for you clowns
Do you mean to say that that all of your old posts, prior to the ban, are no longer accessible???
Is this true?
That was a treasure trove of great information.
Must still exist on the server.
90% of active posters here know nothing about boxing beyond what Big Poppa Pump feeds in for current events. Very little here aside from newsfeeds, in terms of new info, fresh, non-published research.
This is not an exchange between seasoned historians, thought there are a dozen or more excellent posters in the history section.
I wonder if your old contributions can be made available?
