We are all children of our time.
What we are brought up to believe in one era might not be considered the truth in the next era.

(I believe the coming generations will judge us now living as really evil and irresponsible people. Climate changes ...)

no way he didnt know deep down that he was wrong to do what he was doing. He just went with it, and being in the public eye, perpetuated it.

And theres no way the "whole world" was racist back then either, not even the whole of america. its just areas, but they were the areas with the upper hand back then.

Probably a good thing for him though as someone would have lamped him out a long time ago if he had fought all comers. all the more reason for him to stick with it.

Look who's trying out the Butch look today. Funny that's directed at me when other posters are clearly more inflamatory in their speech.

Is it because i am Black that you are targeting me? Or my insistence on asking hard questions that American doesn't want to face?

LOL, then why did Peter Jackson turn down his offer?

Why wasn't there a Back Heavyweight champion until Johnson... when no other live opponents of any color were present? His greatest win was against a guy who'd been retired years before and had to cut down from 300 pounds.

As much as I love insitigating easily triggered posters (I actually think they like it, too. It's girls who like being teased by the guy they have a crush on). I really do come here for the meaning discussions. Thank you for steering us back in that direction.

I would say that Tyson was in the making of becoming one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time. Losing his father (D'Amato) being left with oddballs (Rooney and Atlas), and being sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit left us with a withered product.

                You don't think so?
