    Lennox Lewis V Mike Tyson.

In theory, would Tyson have done any better against Lennox Lewis had they fought earlier? i.e. although Lewis beat Lionel Butler in five rounds back in 1995, i thought he looked bad in spells against a fighter who tried (but failed) to base his style on Mike Tyson. As i recall this was Lewis's first fight with Manny Steward in his corner, and indeed Lewis developed as a fighter as he got older IMO, but would the Mike Tyson who beat Frank Bruno and lost to Evander Holyfield in 1996, do any better against the Lennox Lewis that beat Lionel Butler in 1995?
In sum, i realise that there would have been next to no chance of a Lewis V Tyson fight happening in 1995 or 1996, but the Tyson that Lewis eventually faced was shot. I think that the Mike Tyson who beat Bruno, and lost to Holyfield was in the best form he was likely to be in after his incarceration.

That Tyson was very sluggish, and didn't have good stamina, however, he looked in great shape against Holyfield2 and fought his best round since prison(round 3 vs Holyfield). Against Lewis at the time, he may have been able to crack that chin with a single punch. Lennox wasn't as matured and smart yet, Lewis later learned how to pace himself, how to use his range and the ring, and never slugged with sluggers. He did do a lot of ****** things like being ****y and drop his hands, but if he was focused, he was as good as he could get in the late 90s/early 2000s. Its hard to decide, Tyson didn't look good in the mid 90s, except for Bruno, but he wouldn't be able to beat Lewis with that style, and against Holyfield in the second fight. If Tyson came at his best, i'd give it 50/50.

I think the Tyson that beat Bruno (the 2nd time) and lost to Holyfeild would hav done better against Lewis than the Tyson that actually fought him but he'd still lose IMO. However I think Prime Tyson beats the ****in life out of Lummox!

I dunno if Tyson would have won, but he would've done better.

Barring a bite or arm-twisting DQ, could he have done any worse?

How about 21 year old Tyson vs. 32 year old Lewis?

Tyson takes out Lewis early. If ordinary fighters like McCall and Rahman could take advantage of Lewis' suspect chin, a prime Tyson most certainly could.
