Light heavyweights Jeppe Morell (9-2) and Dayron Lester (11-2) clash for the vacant IBF Baltic title June 15 in Randers on a Danish Fight Night Promotion in a very interesting matchup.

Lester, from Cuba but based in Finland, was last seen losing a controversial decision to German veteran Khoren Gevor. Lester won the early rounds but faded down the stretch and lack of conditioning have been a problem for the talented Lester throughout his career.

Morell beat Argentinean Ruben Acosta in his last fight but then pulled out of a fight against ex WBA champ Dmitri Chudinov and has been inactive since September of last year.

Also on the bill is female featherweight Sarah Mahfoud (8-0) and she is in against veteran ex-champ Olivia Gerula (18-18-2).

Already announced is a fight for the vacant EU title between super lightweights Enock Poulsen (10-0) and Michal Syrowatka (20-2).

German heavyweight prospect Peter Kadiru (2-0) take on Mexican Carlos Carreon (7-5-) May 11 in Magdeburg. This SES promotion is topped by Robin Krasniqi´s defence of the EBU super middle title against Stefan Haertel in what is an all-German battle between stablemates. The winner will inherit no other than Juergen Braehmer as official challenger.

The EBU have announced that the fight for the vacant EU super middleweight title between Tyron Zeuge and Adan Silvera will go ahead June 19 in Rostock (Germany). This is not officially confirmed by AGON Sports who will promote the fight.

Speaking of doping, First Lady Promotions in Norway have suspended Dominika Novotna for four (4) years following a positive doping test on the very first FL promotion which took place in the fall of 2017. The suspension is effective from September of 2018 writes ba.no.

Novotna, who made her pro debut in Norway, has since fought three times.

For those wonder if a promoter can suspend a fighter the answer is yes, such are the rules in Norway where they have a strong legislation behind them on doping cases but if these ruled are followed internationally is a different thing.

There is no such thing as governing body for professional boxing and no unified rules and should a fighter with strong financial backing (as in a heavyweight contender) take a self appointed Federation (as most are in Europe) to court the financial burden on the Federation will most likely be such that a compromise solution and a short (or shortend) suspension will be handed out. In the case of Novotna, a female four round level fighter, this is not likely to be the case.
