In Brussels tonight ONLY OINE Boxing Management put on a show at the Claridge Events with no crowd and streamed live a pay-per-view.
Swedish light heavyweight Oscar "Golden Boy" Ahlin (21-2) outscored Germany-based Turk Alpan Yaman (12-2) over ten fast paced rounds. Yaman was down in the second and third from left hook counters to the head but was never hurt and kept coming. His pressure paid partly off and he got the Swede under some pressure in the later rounds. It wasn't enough though and Ahlin won on scores of 99-90 twice and 97-91. Both men suffered cuts. Ahlin has been around for ten years and won his first title tonight as the vacant IBO Continental title was at stake.
Super welterweight Nabil Messaoud (4-0) stopped Romanian-Spanish veteran Rafael Chiruta (17-44-1) in a fight for the vacant Flemish title. Chiruta tried to slug it out but was outboxed. He seemed to take it well and is normally pretty tough but he retired after the fourth and didn´t come out for the fifth round.
There was a short break during the third as the venue was too crowded.
Irish light heavyweight Tony Brown showed promise as he outscored 42-year old former world champ Kassim Ouma (29-15-1). Brown won on scores of 78-74 and 80-72 twice. Ouma is a has-been in every way but a tough has-been and he made the youngster, now 3-0, work hard for his win.
