Former four-division world champion, Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), is ready to start training for his final two career fights. The first match will happen in early August, with the second taking place before the end of the year in Tijuana. Morales says a potential opponent is former champion Humberto Soto (60-8-2, 34KOs), who returns on June 8th against Hiroshi Nakamori (33-5-1, 20KOs) in Tijuana.
"My idea is to fight in early August and prepare for my farewell, which will take place later this year with all of my people of Tijuana and that will close my cycle of work after twenty years in boxing. Soto fights in Tijuana against a Japanese opponent. The idea is to fight the winner. In fact, there has been talk of a fight with [Soto] for several years and now it might happen," Morales said.
