Promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events does not feel threatened by the recently announced event for July 25 at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. The Palms card will be a "Premier Boxing Champions" televised event on NBC Sports. In the headliner, cruiserweights BJ Flores and Beibut Shumenov will do battle. Both boxers reside in Las Vegas.

Duva is also promoting a card on very same night, also in Las Vegas, but at the Mandalay Bay. Her card, televised by HBO, will feature Sergey Kovalev defending his WBA/WBO/IBF light heavyweight titles against Nadjib Mohammedi.

“It’s another example of [Haymon's] behavior,” Duva said to the Las Vegas Review Journal. “In a way, I take it as a compliment that he sees us as a threat.”

“Nothing against the two fighters [in the PBC main event], but if he’s going to sabotage us, he needs to come up with a better fight than this. We’re not going to worry about what they’re doing. We’re going to focus on promoting our fight.”
