With big results in from early September, the Middleweight and Super Middleweight divisions remain as they were.  Sergio Martinez and Andre Ward, respectively, stand alone.

But what about the span of the scale?

One of these men made a major move in the pound-for-pound ratings.  The other remains where he was after getting the highest visibility win of his career with a hint of drama thrown in for good measure.  The headline is a clue.

For the first time since early in the summer, there’s something worth updating in pound-for-pound terms and changes abound.  Chad Dawson, previously at nine, is out.  Who gets into the top ten?  Where do the twin titans of boxing economics, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, settle?

With Pacquiao-Marquez IV, Nonito Donaire-Toshiaki Nishioka, and Abner Mares-Anselmo Moreno all coming soon, the only constant is likely to be change.
