O2 Arena in London - Popular former British light-heavyweight champ Frank Buglioni easily beat Cameroon-born Spaniard Emmanuel Feuzeu in six one sided rounds in his first fight since losing his domestic title in a dramatic one round reverse to Callum Johnson at this venue in March. The ‘Wise Guy’ is now 22-3-1 while Feuzeu drops to 10-8-2.
Buglioni’s boxing was neat and tidy, mixing up attacks to body and head with little danger at this level, although Feuzeu would occasionally move out of survival gear and throw combinations at Buglioni.
Following a burst of Buglioni pressure the referee stopped the contest at the end of the sixth. With his recent conqueror Johnson looking forward to an IBF world title challenge against Artur Beterviev it’s a case of what might have been for Buglioni, but at 29 years old the Enfield man is young enough and sells enough tickets to come again.
Popular London light-heavyweight Charlie Duffield opened the big O2 show chalked up his sixth victory against one reverse against tough Latvian Reinis Porozobvs.
Porozobvs made a dramatic debut ten years ago when he challenged for the Latvian middleweight title in a Riga nightclub, a five round loss which remains the only time he’s been scheduled to fight ten rounds.
The Tibbs-trained Duffield (now 6-1) hurt the visitor with right hands to body and head before referee Jeff Hinds waved the fight off following a corner retirement at the end of the third round.
