For the better part of four months Antonio “Tony” DeMarco has been training in Las Vegas for his upcoming fight against Omar “Panterita” Figueroa on Saturday, December 12 in San Antonio, Texas.

“It has been a good camp. I feel very much at peace and I am looking forward to putting on a good show for the fans in San Antonio,” said De Marco, while getting ready to spar a few days ago.

DeMarco (31-5-1, 23 KOs) of Los Mochis, Mexico will battle Figueroa (25-0-1, 18 KOs), of Weslaco, Texas, in a super lightweight battle that headlines Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC in primetime on December 12 from the newly renovated AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas with televised coverage beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT.

“I had some personal problems that have taken me awhile to come to terms with and after many hours of self-awareness and going to a spiritual retreat and getting away from everything and everyone also helped,” said DeMarco.

DeMarco, a former lightweight world champion, has lost his last two fights by decision at a super lightweight and is looking to deliver a performance that will bring him back to the top of the boxing world.

“I did think about giving up boxing, but that was because I did not feel right in so many ways inside or outside the ring, but I feel great now and want to prove to myself that I can still have something to offer,” said DeMarco, a lefty with some pop and boxing skills.

DeMarco was also an interim light weight champion and, outside his first loss in a six round bout, his other four losses have come to current or former world champions.

“This will be a very tough fight against Figueroa and it will most likely be a war because of our fighting styles,” said DeMarco. “I will do everything I can to give a great show and a great fight. My objective is to win.”

PBC on NBC will feature a stacked tripleheader of action featuring multiple exciting heavyweight showdowns. In a battle of undefeated American heavyweights 2012 U.S. Olympian Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale (16-0, 14 KOs) faces “Prince” Charles Martin (22-0-1, 20 KOs) in a 10-round contest and the action continues with hard-hitting Mexican-American Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) against Travis “My Time” Kauffman (30-1, 22 KOs) in 10-rounds of action.
