Undefeated super bantamweight prospect Orlando "Orlandito" Del Valle (16-0) is scheduled to face former champion Vic Darchinyan (37-5-1) on September 29th in Connecticut.  BoxingScene recently spoke with Del Valle who is looking forward to what amounts to the biggest challenge of  his career to date.

"I'm very excited and looking forward to September 29th. It's definitely the biggest fight of my career and my entrance to the big leagues.  It's an honor for me and my whole team to be fighting Vic who is a very, very good fighter and always ready to fight," Del Valle said.

The Puerto Rican fighter said that he has followed Darchinyan's career for a while and has a tremendous amount of respect or his Armenian opponent. Del Valle feels that this is his chance to prove that he can compete with the top fighters in his weight class.

"I've watched him fight since I was an amateur and I never thought that we would be in the ring together but now it is going to happen and after the first bell, the respect will go out the door and I'm going to prove to the boxing world I know how to swim in deep waters," Del Valle told BoxingScene.

Darchinyan is known for applying pressure and being aggressive in the ring. Orlandito is confident that he will be ready for whatever style Darchinyan brings in their HBO televised fight.

"We'll be ready.  If he wants to box I will walk him down and make him fight and if he wants to bully me as he usually does, my counter punching game will be at it's best and I have no doubt we will come out victorious on September 29," Del Valle concluded.
