Undefeated Light-Welterweight prospect Dean “The Irish Lightning” Byrne has been added to Queensberry Promotions’ return to York Hall on October 21st.

Byrne will feature in an 8 round contest on a bill that is headlined by Leon Williams’ challenge for Rob Norton's British Cruiserweight Championship. Chief support sees Ryan Walsh take on Liam Richards for the vacant English Super-Bantamweight title.

All three fights will be shown LIVE and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Platform Ch. 456), the new home of boxing. Irishman Byrne, who trains in Manchester under the tutelage of former two-time WBU World Champion Anthony Farnell, has family ties to London’s East End and is looking forward to his UK debut at London’s home of boxing.

He said “I really can’t wait to get back in the ring after such a long time away, I’m also really looking forward to being involved in Queensberry Promotions’ second show after such great debut event from them. I’m also very excited about the fight being broadcast BoxNation as it’s a great opportunity to impress in front of so many fight fans."

Promoter Francis Warren added “We’re delighted we have managed to get Dean on the show and will be announcing his opponent very soon. Dean’s an exciting fighter to watch and fans are in for a treat when they see him in action on the night. Queensberry is all about delivering exciting, competitive boxing all the way through the card and Dean will be given a tough test, one which I’m sure he will excel in.”
