David Graf (10-0, 7 KOs) is ready for his biggest chance to date in the professional ranks. The cruiserweight from Germany travels all the way to Scotland to challenge local favourite Stephen Simmons (8-0, 4 KOs) for the vacant WBC International Silver Championship this Saturday. Graf and Simmons will collide in a scheduled 10-rounder on the undercard of the world title clash between defending WBO Lightweight Champion Ricky Burns and challenger Raymundo Beltran at the SECC Glasgow.

"I am happy to get my first title opportunity in just my eleventh fight as a pro," said the 6 ft. 3 tall Graf. "That's why I always wanted to step inside the ring and train for as hard as I do. On Saturday I want to show the world that I have rightfully earned that chance and beat Simmons."

To date, Graf has fought abroad just once - his latest bout in April at the Multiversum Schwechat, near the Austrian capital Vienna, ended with a second round knockout against Jozsef Nagy. "But that really doesn't count for me. It is only a short hop in comparison to Glasgow and the fans in Austria cheered me on. I doubt that I will enjoy such a supportive crowd at the SECC. It will be hostile territory for me." He knows: "I have to lay out a beating on Simmons to earn their respect."

The 24-year-old Graf has watched his upcoming opponent carefully on tape. "Simmons tries to pressure you with the jab from the get-go which worked to his success so far. Yet, he never had to fight more than six rounds. Does he have the stamina to go the distance with me? I doubt it," stated the talented German, who is confident of victory against the 29-year-old Scotsman.
