Doncaster-based heavyweight contender David “White Rhino” Allen (14-4, 11 KOs) has told Sky Sports that he has a list of potential opponents in mind after rejuvenating his career via a fourth-round KO win over previously undefeated Nick Webb at London’s O2 Arena last month. 

The fan friendly heavyweight will feature on Eddie Hearn’s October 13 bill at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, which will be led by local lightweight Lewis Ritson, and he has highlighted five possible future opponents should he emerge from that one unscathed.

Speaking to Sky, the 26-year-old first named former European champion and Dillian Whyte foe Robert Helenius as a potential opponent, saying: “I want him.  I'm not saying I want him next, but I want him before the year is out.  I really like Robert, I think he's an absolute gentleman.  He's a big name, but at this stage of his career, he's beatable, and I want to put myself even further on.  I've got so much hunger in my chest, and I think Robert's the perfect fight for me at the end of the year.  He's no 1.”

Allen named another former Whyte foe when revealing that Australian Lucas Browne is also another name in the frame.  “I like Lucas Browne as well, but he's a former world champion, he's another massive springboard,” he said.  “After the Nick Webb fight, I've got so much confidence.  You know what, I can do what I want to do in the ring.  Lucas Browne is the perfect fight for me, stylistically.  He'll come and fight—and I'll beat him.” 

Canada-based Dillon Carman flew in at number three; the 32-year-old stands at 6' 5'' yet Allen feels he can bring him down to size.  He said: “He's a big man.  He's a big Canadian man, but what Dillon Carman doesn't realise is—I'm a lumberjack.  I'll chop him down like a big oak tree until he falls.” 

David Price has already been stopped five times in his career yet his stock rose in defeat when he hurt Alexander Povetkin before being knocked out in five back in March.  The Liverpudlian has vowed to continue his career and a Price-Allen encounter could be an interesting crossroads fight.

“I would love the David Price fight at some point,” revealed Allen.  “It could be a huge fight.  The plumber against the plumber smasher.  If I'm fighting David Price, I want it for the British heavyweight title.  I would fight my grandmother for the British title.  I'm not bothered, I would fight any man.” 

Last but not least, Webb has called for a rematch with Allen, citing what he believes was a lucky punch when they first met.  The 30-year-old has vowed to gain his revenge on Allen, but may have to wait a while for the chance if Allen continues to post wins.

“If he thinks it was a lucky punch, then I'll knock him out for a second time, however, he is a really nice man and I wish him the best,” answered Allen when asked if he could get tangled up in another fight with Webb.  “Don't make me do it again Nick, because I didn't enjoy it the first time.”
