LAS VEGAS - You can count Curtis Stevens among the interested observers of Saturday's unification clash between WBC/WBA middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and IBF champion Danny Jacobs.  The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be streamed live on DAZN.

The fight is one of the best that can be made in the sport and Stevens is very intrigued to see how the action plays out.

"Great fight. Canelo is a strong guy.  Jacobs can box. He is a versatile southpaw-orthodox," stated Stevens in regards to Jacobs style. "It is a tremendous fight but the belts are coming back to Brownsville."

Jacobs, like Stevens, is from Brownsville, New York so the hard hitter definitely is a bit biased. He is however very confident in his friend's ability to rise to the occasion and defeat an elite pound-for-pound fighter like Alvarez.  He believes that even if Jacobs comes up on the short end of a controversial decision that he will still be considered among the best middleweights in the world.

"He exposed GGG so now he is here. Now he needs to expose Canelo and he is still in line - even though they might not give it to him - he will still be in contention to be in top fights still," Stevens explained as he alluded to what some consider preferential treatment by the Las Vegas judges for Alvarez in the past.

Stevens has been in the ring with many of the top middleweights in the world like Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux.  He expects the very best out of Jacobs on Saturday night.

"Danny has trained his ass off for this fight. We are here to box and here to bang. We are here to use our mind to come out to win," said Stevens.
