Since exhibition fights are now in full swing, Cristian Mijares is ready to continue this trend. He could return in the fall against fellow former world champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce.
It would be the second time in which Mijares and Arce would be measuring their skills in the ring.
Arce would be looking for revenge, since Mijares outboxed him over twelve rounds back in 2007.
It was Mijares himself who made his intentions clear on his social networks, that the exhibition with Arce could take place in October and the city of Torreón is proposed as the location, quite possibly in the Municipal Auditorium.
It would not be the first exhibition fight for Mijares, who took part in an exhibition last September against former champion Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel.
And Arce had a few exhibition fights of his own, against Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.
Back on April 14, 2007 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, Mijares defeated Arce to retain his WBC super flyweight world championship for the third time.
The two boxers have been seen training on social media.
"Next week we are going to sit down to sign the fight contract, we set the date and the location, but it is a fact that it will be in Torreón," confirmed Mijares.
He indicated that if the event secures the support of the local governments, the card will be used for charitable causes.
"We are going in that direction, something to benefit children, to help an organization that helps the most needy of children," Mijares said.
