CompuBox expanded it plus/minus list by adding nine additional categories (10 categories in total) and creating The CompuBox Pound for Pound Ratings which will be updated throughout 2016.  10 points are awarded to the leader in each category;  9 points for #2; 8 for #3; etc., down to one point.  GGG (65 points), who leads all active fighters with 11 jabs per per round, currently holds a one point lead over Leo Santa Cruz.  Chocolatito, who ranks #1 in punches landed & thrown per round as well as power punches landed per round, earned 60 points, good for a current third place rating.   Hopkins, Maidana & JM Marquez are not listed due to inactivity.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: GGG doubled C'box avg. for jabs landed.  Only Chocolatito (35) & Santa Cruz (32) landed more punches per round than GGG (28). Santa Cruz avg'd 82 thrown per round (and landed 8 jabs per round) while opponents landed just 24% of their total punches.  30 of Chocolatito's 35 landed punches per round (86%) were power shots.  Potential red flag?: Chocolatito's opponents landed 21 punches per round- 4 more than C'box avg.

Mayweather led in plus/minus as expected and landed 43% of his total punches (#1)  and 51% (#3) of his power punches.  Rigo led all defenders- opponents landed just 5 punches per round, 17% of their total punches & just 20% of their power punches.  Crawford landed 44% of his power punches while his opponents landed just 7 punches per round.  Klitschko landed 5 power punches per round and his opponents landed 5 total punches per round.

Economic Stevenson landed 55% of his power punches (#1).  Fonfara has a -7 plus/minus rating and opponents landed 47% of their power punches, yet he tallied 31 points.  How? by landing 24  of 75 punches thrown per round.  18 of Salido's 20 landed punches per round (90%) were power shots.  Must see TV: Provodnikov,  opponents landed 23 punches per round and 40% of their power punches, while Provodnikov landed 21 per round.

Kovalev's offense is his defense- opponents landed just 6  punches per round.  Bute (+6 ), looked better than he has in years in competitive loss to DeGale.  Cotto at bottom of the pack, but he's not sweating it after earning north of $15 mil in loss to Canelo.  Danny's fought some top competition: Peterson, Herrera, Matthysse & Khan- all of whom are listed above.  Berto's abit more economical than Rosado, whose opponents landed 43% of their power punches.
