Unbeaten prospect Dmitry Chudinov (12-0-2, 8KOs) is ready to take the next step in his pro career. On Saturday night in Moscow, he picked up the WBA's interim-middleweight title with a sixth round TKO of Colombian Juan Camilo Novoa.
Chudinov's promoter, Vladimir Hryunov, would like to get him a shot at the WBA's "regular" middleweight championship. The "regular" title is vacant, but in February the title will be up for grabs when contenders Martin Murray and Jarrod Fletcher collide for the belt. He also wants his fighter to face season former champions.
"Chudinov is going to have a very busy year. We would be very interesting to fight the winner of the fight for the vacant WBA middleweight title between Martin Murray and Jarrod Fletcher. We will also consider the option of facing boxers like Jeff Lacy, Jermain Taylor and Ricardo Mayorga," Hryunov said.
