WBA bantamweight champion Anselo "Chemito" Moreno (32-1-1, 11KOs) is hoping to secure a unification bout before moving up in weight to 122-pounds.
"'Before going up to another division, I want a unification. But first I have to get past my next fight," said Moreno.
On April 21 in El Paso, Texas - Chemito will defend his title against David De La Mora (24-1, 17KOs) at the Don Haskins Center. This will be the second fight for Chemito in the United States, after he made his American debut last December with a lopsided decision win over Vic Darchinyan.
If he gets past De La Mora, Chemito wants to fight one of the other champions in the fall. In the WBC, the defending champion is Shinsuke Yamanaka of Japan. The WBO king is Jorge Arce of Mexico, while the IBF became vacant when Abner Mares dropped the belt for a move to super bantamweight.
