Former WBA "regular" heavyweight champs Mahmoud "Manuel" Charr and Lucas Browne clash on December 17 in Dubai in an event promoted by Iconic Promotions Dubai.

The 43-year old Browne (31-3) looked like a spent force after losing to former rugby player Paul Gallen last year but has scored two good wins since, including a stunning stoppage of Junior Fa in his last fight.

As for Charr, 38 and 33-4, he won one of the many WBA titles around in 2017 but never got to defend and was inactive for four years before coming back last year.

SES and Blanko Sports join forces for a show in Heilbronn (Germany) on December 10. Local hero Slawa Spomer (16-0) headlines and meets Egzon Maliqaj (11-0-1) from Switzerland with the WBO Global title at stake.

In the co-feature WBC female minimumweight champion Tina Rupprecht (11-0-1) defends the title against Peruvian Rocio Gaspar (12-1).

Croatian super middleweight Luka Plantic (3-0) goes for the vacant WBC International title on December 19 when he takes on 42-year old veteran Khoren Gevor (35-10).

Plantic, top class as an amateur, knocked out the normally very tough South African Ryno Liebenberg (22-10-1) in the fourth round last time out.

Gevor returned earlier this year after being inactive since 2019 and scored an upset win in Poland with a technical decision over previously undefeated Lukasz Stanioch (8-1).

Swedish light heavyweight Oscar Ahlin (23-2) stopped Argentinian veteran Walter Gabriel Sequeira (26-11-1) in the fourth last night in Madrid (Spain). Ahlin returned earlier this year after over a year out due to a shoulder injury.

French super welter David Papot (27-0-1) retained the IBA title Friday night in Nantes with a split decision win over Bilel Jkitou (15-2).

Jkitou had Freddie Roach in his corner and he came close but lost on scores of 116-112 and 116-113. The third judge had him winning at 115-113.

Nina Hughes (5-0, 2 KOs) pulled off an upset decision by capturing the WBA bantamweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over unbeaten Jamie Mitchell (8-1-2, 5 KOs) in Dubai.

The scores were 96-94, 96-94 and 97-93.

Last October, Mitchell pulled off an upset of her won when she outboxed Shannon Courtenay over ten rounds to capture the WBA title at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

She returned in February to retain the belt with fourth round knockout of undefeated Carly Skelly in Phoenix, Arizona - as part of the Bam Rodriguez vs. Carlos Cuadras undercard.
