Blake Caparello: “Saturday night is finally just days away and I couldn’t be more excited or more ready for this fight. This is hands-down the best training camp that I have ever had in my career. I feel stronger, both physically and mentally than I ever have before. I am in tremendous shape. I am as sharp as can be. My team has come up with a great game plan for August 2nd and I couldn’t be more confident that I will be walking out of that ring on Saturday night as the new WBO light heavyweight champion of the world.
“This is a fight that I have wanted for some time now, essentially ever since Kovalev beat Cleverly. My style is going to create problems for Sergey and you will see that very quickly on Saturday night.
“I am not going to give my game plan away, but the thing about me is that I am able to adjust and I can adapt inside the ring. Anything that he brings come Saturday night, trust me, we will be ready. I am super confident going into this fight. I have worked so hard to get to this point and this training camp has been absolutely perfect.
“I have sparred with a number of the top guys in the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions and I more than held my own in those camps.
“All of the hype right now is on Sergey so all the pressure is on him to perform. I am just going to go in there and do what I do best. There has been talk that Sergey is overlooking me and instead thinking about what he is going to do next, but I have not let that distract me at all.
“I am expecting the best Sergey Kovalev on Saturday night and that is who I am training for. On Saturday night, I will be walking out of that arena as the new WBO light heavyweight champion of the world. Mark my words.”
