Luke Campbell and Gary Sykes will vie for a belt when they meet later this month.
The pair had been scheduled to meet in a lightweight contest, but it has now been revealed that the vacant Commonwealth crown will be on the line.
Campbell (12-1, 10 KOs) is looking to come back from defeat with a bang as he takes on the Dewsbury fighter (28-4, 6 KOs) on March 26, live on Sky Sports.
‘Cool Hand’ and ‘Five Star’s’ battle of Yorkshire takes pride of place as the chief supporting showdown to Kell Brook’s IBF world welterweight title defence against mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier at the Sheffield Arena.
The Commonwealth crown will have been unoccupied for just under a month after it was relinquished by Richard Commey, the dynamite-fisted Ghanaian, as he looks to focus on a proposed world title challenge against IBF titlist Rances Barthelemy.
Campbell’s battle with Sykes for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title will be joined on the Brook-Bizier bill by a British heavyweight title eliminator between Dave Allen and Richard Towers, while Andy Townend defend his English super featherweight title against Craig Poxton.
Elsewhere, there is action for Adam Etches, Jordan Gill, Lee Appleyard and Leigh Wood.
