Adrien Broner is only a day away from going for his fourth divisional world title in his home state of Ohio. Broner takes on Russia's Khabib Allakhverdiev for the vacant WBA "regular" junior welterweight championship at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The fight between Broner (30-2, 22 KOs) and Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KOs) will be carried live on SHOWTIME (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT).

Broner has his back against  the wall. He is coming back from a June decision loss to Shawn Porter. Both of Broner's career defeats have in the welterweight division. The other coming at the hands of Marcos Maidana in 2012.

He's held titles at super featherweight, lightweight and welterweight. Now he wants the title at 140. Khabib, a former WBA titleholder, has other plans and aims to derail Broner's plans.

Trainer Mike Stafford says Broner is finally fighting in his correct weight division.

"Adrien is at his weight class this time. We have been fighting at 146 and 147, he's had the title at 147, but now he is back at his weight. He is mean and lean," Stafford said.

"Adrien knows how important this is. He knows Khabib is a great former champion. We thank [Khabib] for coming to our city. Not too many people would come into this situation."
