Craig Kennedy (13-0, 7 KOs) will meet Tony Conquest (16-2, 5 KOs) in the New Year.

The pair will do battle at the Newport Centre, live on Eurosport.

Kennedy, 30, and 31-year-old Conquest are scheduled to go head-to-head over 12 rounds on February 6 in a final eliminator for the British cruiserweight title.

Both fighters secured warm-up victories in recent weeks, with Cardiff’s Kennedy cruising to the sixth of eight scheduled rounds before finishing Tamas Bajzath with his trademark left uppercut and Conquest winning his last three all by decision, the latest of which came on Friday against Lithuanian journeyman Igoris Borucha over four rounds.

Conquest’s last defeat came in April, 2014 when he suffered a five-round stoppage at the hands of Ovill McKenzie, who relieved him of the Commonwealth title he won with an unanimous decision against Australia’s Daniel Ammann.

And the former world title challenger, who went to Argentina and secured a draw against Victor Emilio Ramirez on eight days’ notice back in October, will be in the opposite corner for the winner of this fight as they challenge the Derby-based Jamaican for his belts.
