Cruiserweight Brandon Glanton remained unbeaten late Friday night, knocking out Mario Aguilar at the ProBoxTV (also known as the Whitesands) Event Center in Plant City, Florida.

Glanton, who resides in Atlanta, Georgia, improves to 17-0, 14 knockouts.

From the opening bell, Glanton was the aggressor, putting Aguilar on the defensive. Glanton would back the game Aguilar up against the ropes and throw two-punch combinations.

During the second round, Glanton hurt Aguilar against the ropes. Referee Jose Rivera looked as though he was going to step in and stop the fight, but caught an inadvertent left hook to the chin. He did not look visibly hurt as, moments later, Glanton landed a left hook to the body that dropped Aguilar to one knee. Aguilar remained in that position as he was counted out at 1:09.

“He came out just like I thought he would,” said Glanton after the fight. “He came out punching. But I don’t know why he decided to make it a battle of attrition because that’s my game. He can punch. I could see (me landing the body shot) coming from a mile away though. He gave it to me. Body, head. But I did not expect it to come so easily. 

“I thought I was going to knock him out cold because he kept giving me the chin shot, but I went to the body and it was all over.”

The 30-year-old Glanton had fought on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) cards in recent months. His most notable fight was a split-decision victory over Efetobor Apochi on June 21 of last year. 

Aguilar, who resides in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, drops to 22-8, 18 KOs. He entered the Glanton fight having won four of his previous six bouts.

In the co-feature, which was a clash of unbeaten light heavyweights, Richard VanSiclen of Seattle, Washington defeated Hakim Lopez by unanimous decision. Scores were 78-75, 78-75, and 78-74 for VanSiclen, who improves to 13-0, 6 KOs. 

The southpaw VanSiclen attempted to counter Lopez throughout the first half of the fight. During the middle rounds, Lopez mixed his attack but throwing and landing to the body.

During the last two rounds, VanSiclen was the more-assertive fighter, especially in the seventh round when he landed a series of uppercuts to the chin of Lopez. VanSiclen was busier, while Lopez’s punch output dropped.

Lopez, who resides in Ellenwood, Georgia, drops to 13-1, 8 KOs. 

Junior lightweight prospect Otar Eranosyan defeated former world junior featherweight title challenger Cesar Juarez (27-12, 22 KOs) of Mexico City by unanimous decision.

Scores were 77-74, 77-74, and 78-73 for Eranosyan, who improves to 12-0, 6 KOs.

Juarez was the aggressor and attempted to throw a high volume of punches, but Eranosyan easily side-stepped and countered Juarez. 

As the bout progressed, the 29-year-old Eranosyan continued to outbox Juarez. At times, both would grapple with each other, prompting Eranosyan to push Juarez down to the canvas. During the seventh round, after he pushed Juarez down to the canvas a second time, Eranosyan was deducted a point. 

Eranosyan, who is originally from Akhalkalaki, Georgia and now resides in Miami Beach, Florida, had appeared on two ShoBox telecasts. In his most recent outing on January 7, Eranosyan dropped previously-unbeaten Starling Castillo twice in the opening round en route to a unanimous decision victory.

In the opening bout of the ProBoxTV stream, junior middleweight prospect Marcus Valle of nearby Lutz improved to 6-0, 6 KOs by stopping San Antonio’s Benjamin Whitaker (15-10, 3 KOs) at 2:57 of the opening round.
