Robbie Davies Jnr. has been nominated for a shot at the British title.

The news for the super-lightweight talent came in the latest notices issued by the British Boxing Board of Control earlier this week.

Davies Jnr., who knocked out Michael Syrowatka in a rematch in March to grab his WBA Continental title back, has been crying out for a fight date.

But there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel after the once-defeated switch-hitter, 28, was pitted against Commonwealth champion Glenn Foot for the vacant belt.

Jack Catterall gave up the belt in favour of boosting his rankings with the sanctioning bodies on a world level, leaving Davies Jnr. and Foot to do battle for it.

British Boxing Board of Control stewards have put the contest out to purse bids which are due on July 11.

The fight must take place by the end of October.

Akeem Ennis-Brown and Joe Hughes have also been nominated to square off in another eliminator for the vacant British super-lightweight title. It is currently out to purse bids.

In other news, Tommy Langford will look to gain revenge over Jason Welborn when he challenges for his old British middleweight title.

Errol Johnson will promote the fight on a date to be confirmed, with Walsall Town Hall – the scene of the first fight between the pair – understood to be under consideration as the venue.

After Liam Williams pulled out of negotiations to fight for his old British super-welterweight title, the vacant title will be contested by Asinia Byfield, the current Southern Area titlist, and former English champion Ted Cheeseman, who produced a stunning fourth-round stoppage over Pauly Upton to retain his WBA International belt at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, recently.

The Board has, as with Davies Jnr vs. Foot, put it out to purse bids, with October the deadline month for the fight to happen.

Josh Kelly, meanwhile, has pulled out of an official eliminator for Bradley Skeete's welterweight Lonsdale belt. The WBA International champion, who challenges Kris George for the Commonwealth crown on Saturday at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports, had been nominated alongside Johnny Garton.

In the featherweight division, the rematch could well be on as Ryan Walsh has been ordered to defend his British title against Isaac Lowe, after they drew in their first fight back in February, again.

It is currently out to purse bids and will be forced to happen no later than the end of October.

And a new date and venue are still awaited from promoter Stefy Bull for Josh Wale's British bantamweight title defence against Ukashir Farooq.

On the English title scene, David Haye has won the purse bids to stage the rematch between Liam Conroy and Miles Shinkwin, for the former's title, with a date and venue still to be confirmed.

Ricky Summers, who is due to face Olympic bronze medallist Joshua Buatsi at London's O2 Arena on July 28, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, is meant to face former British title challenger Craig Richards in an official eliminator for the English belt, with it currently out to bids.

But the English super-middleweight title fight between holder Darryll Williams and challenger Lennox Clarke has been scrapped after the latter withdrew from their scheduled June 23 showdown at the O2 Arena in London with an injury. A new date is awaited from promoter Frank Warren for the contest.

After Elliott Matthews relinquished the English middleweight title, purse bids have been ordered for a fight between Tyler Denny and Reece Cartwright, while the same can be said for the vacant English super-welterweight title, with Adam Harper and Billy Bird being nominated.

Freddy Kiwitt vs. Andy Keates has been nominated for the vacant English welterweight title, while no purse bids were received for an eliminator contest between Louie Greene and Ekow Essuman.

And Kay Prosper will face Cassius Connor on September 22 at Bethnal Green's famous York Hall venue in an official eliminator for Sam O'Maison's super-lightweight English title.
