The BBBoC released this month’s Championship circular today to clarify the British title situation and announce some key eliminators.  With the heavyweight title currently vacant, the Board dropped straight to cruiserweight to reveal that Ovil McKenzie (25-12-1, 13 KOs) will defend the his title against Craig Kennedy (15-0, 8 KOs) on a Frank Warren-promoted bill at the Manchester Arena on October 29

Meanwhile, Pat Magee will stage the final eliminator showdown between Tommy McCarthy (9-0, 5 early) and Matty Askin (20-3-1, 13 stoppages), which will take place at Boltnon’s Whites Hotel on October 22.

Light-heavyweight holder Hosea Burton is already scheduled to meet Frank Buglioni on an Eddie Hearn-promoted bill at the Manchester Arena on September 24.

The winner will meet either Tomi Tatham (11-1, 5 KOs) or Liam Conroy (10-3-1, 3 early), who meet in a final eliminator on a date ‘as yet to be advised’ after Hearn won the rights to stage that one too.

Luke Blackledge’s (21-2-2, 7 KOs) long-awaited Super middleweight title shot against Callum Smith (20-0, 15 early) will be promoted by Hearn after he won the right to stage the Liverpool star’s next defence. Smith is penciled in for an October 15 outing at Liverpool’s Echo Arena so it could land on that one.

As previously noted, Chris Eubank Junior is set to meet Tommy Langford in defence of his middleweight crown, with Warren set to announce a time and date in due course after winning the purse bids.

Anthony Ogogo (11-0, 7 KOs) against Elliott Matthews (17-0-1, 9 early) has also been called by the Board. They will fight an eliminator for Eubank’s title. The contest has been sent out to purse bids, with the bids due in by Wednesday September 24 and the contest to take place by the end of the year.

As previously reported, Bradley Skeete is set to meet Shayne Singleton at the Motorpoint Arena on October 22. Warren will promote that one and the winner could meet either Dale Evans (11-3-2, 3 KOs) or Mike Towell (11-0-1, 8 KOs), who fight on a Iaian Wilson bill in Glasgow on September 26 or John Thain (15-2, 1 early) or Nathan Brough (13-1, 2 KOs), those two vie in an eliminator in Glasgow on October 1.

Tyrone Nurse is in form and at light-welterweight; he saw off Tommy Colyle in his last fight and has been ordered to defend against Jack Catterall (15-0, 9 KOs) by the end of this year. Bids are due in on September 14 for that one.
