Sonoran boxer David "Destroyer" Lopez will get the chance to contend for the junior middleweight championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA), which is held by the Austin American Trout. This was announced by the president of HG BOXING, Hector Garcia, who revealed Trout-Lopez is being planned for June 11 in Mexico, with a venue to be finalized shortly.

López paved his way to the world championship by defeating Luis Michel "Bravo" Rosales on March 19 at the Gymnasium of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT ) in Tampico, Tamaulipas. Lopez has a record of 43 wins, 25 knockouts, and 12 defeats.

"Destroyer" Lopez is the current junior middleweight champion of the Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE), a title he won by defeating Saul Roman late last year in Mexicali, Baja California. A win which gives him the confidence to go out with his hand raised high in this important undertaking.

On the same card, the beautiful Arely Muciño of Monterrey will defend her flyweight crown of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) for a second time against an opponent whose name could be revealed in coming days.
