Olympic Gold medal winner Audley Harrison (28-5, 21KOs), 40-years-old, says that he “lived a lie” during his boxing career and plans to show the real Audley on October 13th at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
Audley's career is at stake when he faces undefeated Olympic bronze medal winner David Price (13-0, 11KOs) for the British heavyweight crown.
“I’ve lived a lie in both the amateurs and pros. I talk a good fight, I know. But I am coming to walk through him. This is not talk this time," Audley said.
The 2000 Olympic champion says the 2012 games inspired him to redeem himself with a victory over Price.
"The Olympic spirit woke me up,” said Audley. “I was inspired by the Olympics, and watching that made me realise how far I had gone from being world class. When I was in Sydney, every time somebody won a medal it gave me a boost. When I turned pro, I set myself the goal of becoming world champ, but it hasn’t been achieved. That’s why I’ve come back. This is my last-chance saloon."
"I was inspired by the Olympics, and watching that made me realize how far I had gone from being world class. It’s going to be like when I knew I was going to win gold at the Olympics – I separated myself from the pack. I’m looking to do that again.”
The fight will be televised live in the United States and in the UK on BoxNation.
