Eye of the Tiger Management has obtained confirmation for Arslanbek Makhmudov's (12-0, 12 KOs) next opponent.
On September 23, at the Videotron Center, the man called “The Lion” will face the German giant of 6 feet and 5 inches, Erkan Teper (21-3-0, 13 KOs). Teper has a lot of experience both in the amateur ranks and as a professional boxer and he represents a real danger for Marc Ramsay’s protegé.
“In Teper we see the best opponent of Arslanbek so far. As a former member of the German national team, Teper represents a good technical boxer and he also has excellent defensive skills. He is a very interesting challenge for our team.” explains Makhmudov's coach, Marc Ramsay.
During Teper's impressive Olympic boxing career, he competed against ex-world and Olympic champion Roberto Cammarelle, Kubrat Pulev, Farid Pashayev and defeated Robert Helenius.
On his way through the pro ranks in 2010, Teper won his first 16 fights decisively before suffering his first split-decision loss to Christian Hammer. In addition, Teper had important victories against several known pugilists - including David Price, Johann Duhaupas, Derric Rossy, Evgenios Lazaridis and Newfel Ouataha, among others.
“We are proud to have found a quality opponent like Erkan Teper to face Makhmudov on September 23, at the Videotron Center. He represents a danger for Arslanbek since he has faced very big names in his career. Teper has already caused surprises by defeating undefeated boxers in addition to beating Price and Duhaupas. It will be a good test for Arslanbek and quite a show for boxing fans,” said Eye of the Tiger Management president Camille Estephan.
