It was recently announced that Argenis Mendez (20-2, 10KOs) and Juan Carlos Salgado (26-1-1, 16KOs) will face each other in a rematch on March 2nd in Los Angeles. Promotional firm Acquinity Sports, who handle Mendez’s career, has started working to ensure their boxer arrives to the fight in remarkable condition so he can capture Salgado's IBF super featherweight world title.

“We are satisfied with this resolution that finally made this fight," said promoter Henry Rivalta of Acquinity. “We know that we are going to Los Angeles where Salgado will almost feel like he's fighting at home, but that won’t stop Mendez and we knew that if we had to go to the courtyard of his house to snatch his title - we would do it”

The past fight between Mendez and Salgado, which took place in November of 2011 in Jalisco, saw Salgado win a very close decision. This time Mendez is not taking any chances and he wants to end the fight before it reaches the scorecards.

Rivalta added: "We will arrive to Los Angeles convinced that in this fight we are not going to allow Salgado to hear the bell sounding to end the twelfth round. Argenis is the best super featherweight fighter right now and we are confident that he will defeat Salgado without leaving any margin of doubt."
