MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort, Mashantucket, Connecticut - Antonin Decarie (27-1, 8KOs) stopped Alex Perez (16-1, 9KOs) in the sixth round to retain the WBC International welterweight title, and captures the vacant NABF title.
Decarie's experience shined in the first round. He stunned Perez with several hard right hands in the second, but wasn't able to follow-up with too much. Decarie was landing the right to the belly, then to the body and bringing the punch up to Perez's jaw. In the fourth, Perez opened up and they started trading hard punches. During the sixth, Decarie blasted Perez with a hard counter right hand and sent him crashing with several more shots. Perez beat the count but then he was battered against the ropes until the referee jumped in.
