A deal is close to finalized, but not exactly done yet. Anthony Mundine has a verbal deal in place to face Austin Trout in San Antonio on May 9 for the Mundine’s WBC ‘Silver’ light-middleweight title and No.1 ranking. The fight will be part of the Premier Boxing Champions card where Omar Figueroa takes on Ricky Burns and Tomoki Kameda faces Jamie McDonnell.

Mundine has agreed to terms but has yet to receive a contract. The pair has been scheduled to face each other in the past but the fight fell through for one reason or another.

“I heard that he put something out there and we’ve been negotiating for a while but we’re still waiting for the contract,” Mundine said to The West Australian. “I agreed to terms but so far it’s just verbal. Nothing has been confirmed. I don’t know why he’s announcing s*** when nothing’s been done.

“He’s trying to make a point trying to **** with me but I’ll **** with him when I get him. I’m going to destroy him, I’m going to hurt this man. The first time for a long time the rivalry’s bitter.”

“I’m going to make him pay for all he’s said for the last three or four years,” Mundine said. “I’m going to be the first man to stop him and I know I can. I’m too much for these cats when mentally I’m on.”

“When Dawson had him hurt he didn’t do jack-s***. I’m a killer,” he said. “I wouldn’t knock him down twice and try and box him. I’d try and kill him. And I know I will catch him. I’m too quick not too."
