Former IBF super featherweight title challenger Andrey Klimov won’t fight again in 2015 but he is ready to come back refreshed in the coming year, says his promoter Andrey Ryabinskiy from the “World of Boxing”.

IBF #5 Klimov is 19-2, with 9 KOs. A former Russian lightweight national champion suffered both of his losses on one-sided unanimous decisions to world-class opponents. He was first defeated by Terence Crawford in October 2013, and then was dominated by Jose Pedraza in a bid for a vacant IBF 135lb belt this June. Klimov managed to take just 1 round on a single scorecard out of 66, losing 90-100 x3 to Crawford and 108-120 x2 and 109-119 – to Pedraza.

“Klimov won’t be fighting in 2015. Most probably he will come back the next year. I’m planning a number of fights, many fights [for him]. I hope one of them will land at our spring event”, told Ryabinskiy in his talk with R-Sport.

World of Boxing’s CEO also commented on managerial fuss around Klimov. “Klimov had major problems with management, so we have taken it under our firm control to bring some order there. We think we have achieved it, and he can now concentrate on boxing itself not to deal with some daily life issues. He should dedicate himself to boxing, re-group and move up. That’s what we wait of him. We were forced to find an island of stability around him and to widen it. He has not been working with our managers. Now this problem is seemingly solved”.
