Former cruiserweight title challenger Andrew Tabiti (17-1) had a roller coast 2019 campaign.  The Mayweather Promotions' promoted fighter suffered a devastating knockout loss in the World Boxing Super Series in June against Yuniel Dorticos.

While that was his only fight of the year, he did gain valuable experience as one of Anthony Joshua's main sparring partners for his December rematch against Andy Ruiz.

Mayweather Promotions' CEO Leonard Ellerbe recently went live on the company's verified Instagram page along with Tabiti to answer questions from fans.  One of the fans asked Tabiti about his experience in the Joshua camp.

"Training was good. It was real good. We just went out there and gained experience from a world class fighter. It put me in a place to believe in myself and see what I have too. Going out there to help one of the best heavyweight champions of the world get ready. It was also a confidence booster for myself. It was a real great experience to go to a different country," Tabiti stated.

Joshua went on to win a shutout decision over Ruiz in Saudi Arabia to recover his WBA,WBO,IBF, and IBO heavyweight titles. Tabiti believes that the work he gave Joshua played a big roll in Joshua's dominant performance.

The next question  asked was if Tabiti believes that he gave Joshua the best work amongst all of his sparring partners.

"Most definitely. I can definitely say that I was his #1 sparring partner. If you see the highlights of the fight you see he had a similar style to me. I saw a lot of myself in him. Whatever I gave him, he won the fight and I am just happy for him," said Tabiti.
