WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward discussed his rival, IBF champion Carl Froch, who always states that he wants to have rematch with the undefeated Olympic gold medal winner. Ward easily decisioned Froch several years ago in the final bout of the Super Six tournament.
Recently, Froch has been very vocal about facing former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a fight likely to take place in Las Vegas - if Chavez is able to defeat Bryan Vera in their March 1st rematch.
Ward told krikya360.com that he doesn't blame Froch for looking for a less theatening challenge.
"Froch doesn't want to fight [me]. Right now Froch is behind the scenes trying to get what he perceives to be the weak link, which is Chavez Jr. But I can't blame him. Froch is 36-years-old or 37 or whatever he is, he's trying to cash out. He doesn't want a real challenge like [George] Groves or even myself. And that's fine, but don't bring my name up as much as you do and act like you want to fight when really you don't. Be honest with the fans," Ward told krikya360.com.
