This Saturday night in Quebec, undefeated WBC No. 1 ranked super lightweight Amir Imam (18-0, 15 KOs) will face Adrian Granados (16-4-2, 11 KOs) in a 10-round bout on Showtime as part of the SHO Extreme card to the James DeGal vs. Lucian Bute televised main event.

If Imam comes away with the win, and no injuries, he will go forward with a mandatory shot at WBC world champion Viktor Postol (28-,12KOs) of Ukraine.  

Stacy McKinely, trainer to Imam, would like to see his boxer take on - provided he beats Postol - WBA junior welterweight champion Adrien Broner (31-2, 23KOs) in a unification bout.

Broner's next fight and upcoming return date has not been determined as of yet.

“I’d like him to fight Adrien Broner next year. I’d like to fight all the guys and unify all the titles next year. Boxing is going to need a new superstar now that Floyd Mayweather is gone, and we’re not going to wait 15 years to make another one. I think Amir unifies all the titles at 140 and 147, then we’d have our new superstar within 36 months," the trainer said.

McKinely does not see too many flaws in his fighter and sees him as being the complete product. After working with some of the biggest names of the years, the veteran coach says Imam is a future superstar with special gifts.

“I can’t find anything we need to work on. Amir is strong and technically sound and he’s getting more experienced every time he fights. He’s a devastating puncher. He’s the full package and that’s very tough to find. They don’t come around too often," McKinley said.
