Red Square, Moscow, Russia - 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Mikhail "Misha" Aloyan of Russia won the vacant "silver" silver championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC) at super flyweight, with a twelve round unanimous decision over Nicaraguan Marvin Solano.

Solano went down in the eighth round, but forced Aloyan to work the entire twelve rounds. Aloyan periodically missed some punches, but he had a big advantage and deservedly won. The scores were 118-110, 117-110, and 119-108.

This fight was only the second fight for Aloyan in the paid ranks. On May 11, he made his professional debut, defeating Nicaraguan Yader Cardosi in Kemerovo on points.

Solano suffered only the second defeat of his career, dropping his record to ;19 wins (seven by knockout).

Aloyan, besides being a bronze medalist, is a two-time world amateur champion and a European amateur champion.

At the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, he won a silver medal, but the Sports Arbitration Court in Lausanne stripped that medal away last December, because the boxer failed a drug test. He took a nasal medication for a cold, but never advised officials or filed any paperwork for permission. He filed an appeal, which was rejected by the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS).

Also on the card, former WBA super middleweight world champion Fedor Chudinov bounced back from his May TKO defeat at the hands of George Groves - which took place before a big crowd at Bramall Lane in Sheffield.

In a fight scheduled for eight rounds Chudinov put away Argentinean fighter Jonathan Barbadillo, with a TKO victory in the second round.

Chudinov raised his record to 15 wins (11 by KO) and two defeats. And Barbadillo dropped down to 17 wins (13 KOs), 4 losses and 1 draw.

In another fight, Magomed Madiev won the WBA's Asia title when he demolished Ecuadorian Heison Minda by knockout in the first round. The match lasted 50 seconds. Madiyev raised his undefeated record to 9 wins (4 by KO). Minda suffered his first defeat at 13 wins (8 by KO), 1 draw.

Former interim-WBA world champion Stanislav Kashtanov won a ten round decision over Sergei Khomitsky. This is his third victory after suffering a loss to Dominican Felix Valera.

Kashtanov raised his record to 36 wins (21 by KO) and 2 losses, while Khomitsky dropped down to 31 wins (14 by KO), 14 defeats and 3 draws.

Olympic gold medal winner Egor Mekhontsev (13-0-1, 8 KOs) won a close eight round majority decision over Gusmyr Perdomo (24-8).
