One of the top rated cruiserweight contenders in the world, Alexander Alekseev (24-2-1, 20KOs), discussed the upcoming cruiserweight battle between WBA champion Denis Lebedev (25-1, 19KOs) and Guillermo Jones (38-3-2, 30KOs), which takes place on Friday in Moscow, Russia. Alekseev does not see Jones being a problem for Lebedev. Both are hard punchers but Alekseev says speed will win the day for the champion.
"I do not think that Jones will give Denis Lebedev any problems. [Jones] is very uncomfortable at the middle distance. It is at this distance where he can deliver some trouble to Denis. But the trump card for Lebedev is speed. The age and the speed is just not the same. Moreover, Jones has been inactive for a while. I think that in this fight Lebedev could win early or in the later rounds. I think Lebedev will use the right tactics in this fight and won't lose. He will leave that ring as champion of the world."
