Light heavyweight Adrian Diaconu is not discouraged by Saturday's twelve round decision loss to Chad Dawson at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Diaconu, a former WBC light heavyweight champion, has lost three of his last four bouts. Chris Ganescu, Diaconu's consultant and adviser, expects his fighter to continue moving forward in the sport of boxing. Gansecu is confident his fighter can put together another good run at 175-pounds. 

Dawson fought very defensive said Gansecu, and used his height and reach to make things very difficult for Diaconu. When Diaconu would attack with combinations, Gansecu felt he was winning the rounds but he didn't attack enough because of Dawson's defensive positioning in the fight.

"He didn't mention to me that he won't continue," said Ganescu to the Montreal Gazette. "I didn't see anything that would make him stop. He showed he could have another shot at 175 pounds. He realized he had no solution [with Dawson]. When he did, for two or three rounds, he won those rounds. But he didn't have the solution for Chad Dawson's style. Dawson scored on him often and clearly threw more. Adrian was too passive and respected him.

"Adrian's good when he engages, but he failed to get Dawson to engage. When he did, he was winning. Either Dawson doesn't have a chin or doesn't trust his chin. He walked away and used his long reach."
