Bell Centre, Montreal Canada - Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19KOs) dominated former IBF king Tavoris Cloud (24-2, 19KOs) over seven rounds to retain the WBC light heavyweight championship.
During the first round, a left hand by Stevenson hit the left eye of Cloud and caused the challenger to stay away until he was able to stop blinking from the eye. Stevenson was easily outboxing Cloud as the rounds played out and cut his left eye in the fourth. In the final minute of the fourth, Cloud was hurt bad to the body.
Stevenson continued to dominate and hurt Cloud in the passing rounds. During the seventh round he had Cloud in trouble several times and badly cut the right eye. At the end of the round, Cloud's trainer stopped the fight as his boxer was taking a beating and bleeding from both eyes.
