Comments Thread For: Cotto's Adviser: Miguel Eyes Margarito, Pacquiao, Chavez

According to Gabriel Penagaricano, legal adviser to WBA junior middleweight king Miguel Cotto, there have been discussions regarding several big name options for 2011. He was originally scheduled to return on December 4 against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a major pay-per-view. Once Chavez fell out from the contest, former champion Kermit Cintron and unbeaten contender Vanes Martirosyan were offered as replacements. Not satisfied with the opponents, Cotto opted to wait until early 2011 for a ring return.

I'm glad Margarito is back in his sights.

Does Miguel Cotto think that Chavez Jr. is an elite? Because Chavez Jr. is definitely not. Cotto does not need to waste his time with Chavez Jr.

No, but it would be profitable and an easier fight for Miguel. Beats the hell out of a less profitable fight against a dangerous opponent in Cintron who I think has a great chance of beating Cotto.

Not really intersted in a cotto-manny rematch. But a fight with chavez jr
or a rematch with margarito would be cool.

i predicted this as soon as cintron and vanes was turned down.i'm proud of cotto.plus he wants the 2 that beat him.regardless of the out come he's a respected man,and puerto rican warrior.then he can retire, look forward to the hall of fame, and enjoy his family for the rest of their lives.GOD bless.

kneeguel must be really broke, why in the world would he want to fight manny or margarito again ? why? he got a royal ass kicking by both, hes not any better in fact hes even worse! u cotto fans need to go easy on your guy and get another welterweight, poor guy man. clottey whuppd that ass too but was robbed nevertheless cottos ass got whoooped! I feel soo bad for cotto he should retire boxing is eating him alive he has zero buisness in this sport not even fighting jr.cotto youve endured too many hardships you wont turn them around just retire and enjoy your life youll go down as one of the greats its over.

from what i remember, cotto wanted to fight with margarito before but at that time margarito's boxing future was uncertain. If cotto fights Marg again I think he will finish the job he started, especially after marg gets worked on by pacquiao.

well get a better idea after the pac fight but i really dont think that will be the case margs doesnt tire like cotto does and hed do the same all over again, you guys are hell bent on the theory his gloves were loaded, but the clottey and pacman fight shouldve thoroughly dispelled that as those two guys are much smaller and still whupped that ass. margs went the distance in his last fight still dropped the guy in the first round and garcia wasnt all that but he still was bigger and fresher than cotto is.I for the life of me dont understand why u guys think that cotto would do better .he still gases out he still retreats when in trouble he still cuts very easy in fact even worse now, I just dont see anything promising in cotto.leave cotto alone its over guys.

Miguel Cotto does not fear any dangerous opponents. Ever. He would never make up any "less profitable" excuses to avoid them as other fighters would. Cotto would beat Cintron.
